Late 20th Century 2.80 Carat Ceylon Purple Sapphire & Diamond Ring, circa 1970

A spectacular statement ring featuring a natural, unheated Ceylon purple sapphire. The glowing centre stone - fully certified - is rubover set in milgarined white gold and surrounded by two rows of incredibly white, incredibly bright, incredibly clean round brilliant cut diamonds - the inner row featuring 16 stones, the outer set with 24. The beautiful vented under-gallery allows maximum light to pass through the gems. A bold beauty.

Currently size U (UK) or 10 1/4 (US). The ring has been retrofit with a hinged shank, designed to go over inflamed knuckles. The band can be replaced with something more orthodox if you prefer. Please contact us to discuss.

Accompanied by a report from Gemmoligical Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
