Mid Century 1.00 Carat Transitional Cut Diamond Engagement Ring, circa 1950
A classy vintage diamond engagement ring. The diamond in the centre - graded by IGI as H colour, VS1 clarity - is dazzlingly white and internally clean. The stone is set in a platinum eight-claw rex collet which sits on a slim and tapering 18k white gold shank.
Although IGI have described the cut as Round Brilliant, the diamond has many characteristics of an Old European Cut - slightly smaller table, cut culet, burnished girdle - making this a transitional cut (a very rare cut that bridged old European cut and round brilliant) rather than a modern round brilliant.
Currently size K 1/2 (UK) or 5 3/8 (US). Free sizing available.
Accompanied by a diamond report from IGI.
